Do you find artificial intelligence fascinating? In the GenAI, LLM Deep Dive pod, you will delve into the world of AI, machine learning, and deep learning models. Gain insights into developing intelligent algorithms and making sense of vast data sets. Architect and engineer solutions to real-world GenAI applications. You will learn about various LLM models and their architectures to gain a deeper understanding. Projects will include coding in Python using APIs to integrate with different LLMs, prompts & VectorDB to create custom ChatBots.
Our interns walk away with in-demand skills like:
✔️ Prompt engineering and deeper understanding of LLMs
✔️ Dataset curation and chunking to create embeddings with VectorDBs
✔️ RAG Architecture to craft customized responses based on external data sources
✔️ Deploying APIs and building user interfaces
In the realm of LLMs, prompt engineering is pivotal for optimizing performance and tailoring outputs to specific tasks or domains. By refining prompts, users can direct LLMs to generate outputs that align closely with their informational needs, creative aspirations, or problem-solving objectives. Whether in natural language understanding, text generation, or other language tasks, thoughtful prompt engineering empowers users to harness the full potential of LLMs, fostering efficiency and precision in various applications across industries, from content creation to scientific research and beyond. Through meticulous prompt design, users can enhance interpretability, mitigate biases, and improve the overall usability of LLMs, thereby enriching their utility and enabling more informed decision-making processes.
RAG, or Retriever-Augmented Generation, is a framework designed to enhance the capabilities of large language models (LLMs) by integrating retrievers, which are models specialized in retrieving relevant documents or passages from a database, into the generation process. The idea behind RAG is to combine the strengths of retrieval-based and generation-based approaches to improve the quality and relevance of generated text.
In RAG, a retriever component is used to search a database of documents or passages for relevant information based on the input query or prompt. Once the relevant information is retrieved, it is fed into the generation component, typically a large language model like GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer), to generate a response or completion.
One of the key advantages of RAG is that it enables the generation of text that is not only fluent and coherent but also grounded in relevant context retrieved from the database. This helps mitigate issues such as factual inaccuracies or lack of context that may arise in pure generation-based approaches.
Vector DBs, or Vector Document Databases, are databases where documents or passages are represented as vectors in a high-dimensional vector space. These vectors capture semantic similarities and relationships between documents, allowing for efficient retrieval of relevant information based on similarity metrics.
For internships, commit to dedicating 10 hours weekly, with 50% devoted to learning. Be punctual for meetings, come prepared with agendas, and actively engage in Zoom discussions using your laptop with video on. Collaborate effectively on Google Docs by adding comments, and most importantly, asking questions to demonstrate initiative and foster learning and growth within the team. These commitments ensure a proactive and fruitful internship experience. Since this is an unpaid internship, we will only meet on weekends to accommodate students who may be working other jobs.
Important Dates to Remember:
✔️ Application deadline is Nov 1st, 2024.
✔️ Interviews scheduled and completed by Nov 15th,2024.
✔️ First team meeting on Sunday, Jan 5nd, 10 AM CST - 11 AM CST
✔️ The program ends on July 30th.
Our interview process is structured to meticulously select the best-suited candidates for our internship opportunities, ensuring a high level of competence and alignment with our company's values. Initially, candidates submit their applications or resumes, where we focus on attention to detail and relevant experience. From this pool, we shortlist applicants based on cover letters or personal statements, gauging their motivations and adaptability to remote work. Following this, we conduct video interviews or pre-screening calls to assess communication skills and enthusiasm for the role. A technical assessment or assignment follows, evaluating problem-solving abilities and willingness to learn. Finally, behavioral interviews scrutinize soft skills crucial for remote work, such as teamwork and adaptability. With this rigorous process, we only select approximately 5% of the applicants, ensuring that those chosen are the most qualified and best fit for our internship positions.
